First five to respond get something craftsy from me!
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! - What I create will be just for you. - It'll be done this year. - You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! - I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to put this in your journal as well.

When you see this, post a quote in your journal from Stargate: Atlantis
Sheppard: The clowns? Oh, yeah, the clowns. We fight them too — entire armies, spilling out of Volkswagons. We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending 'em in.

This link is to the blog of a friend of a friend. It's about medical funding for a rare disease in the UK, and the possibility of it being shut down. As such, being from the US, I'm not eligible to sign any petitions or write to representatives, but I was asked to pass it along to those who could: http://pnhlondon.wordpress.com/
Be well.

I asked for prompts and vulgarweedsupplied me with several. One of which was a New Who/Good Omens crossover.
"somehow [the Doctor] gets stuck with his most annoying companions EVER: an angel and demon who think they know everything but are really interested mostly in alcohol."
"No!" "Oh, come on." "Absolutely not." "Just this once?" "Out of the question. I don't do angels, demons, gods, demigods, local spirits or families," the Doctor recited, looking meaningfully at the demon's foot, elegantly booted and currently lodged in the door of the TARDIS. Crowley just smirked. "Now, when you say do," he began, but the angel silenced him with a hasty jab to the ribs. "Mustn't rile him or he'll never say yes," Aziraphale hissed. Crowley ignored him. "You haven't lived until you've tasted the spiked ambrosia of Cserkna-5, that's what you said," Crowley quoted to the Doctor, "And we've shown you every disreputable drinking establishment this year's London has to offer!" "We do so love to travel through space and time, but my companion's Bentley is rather Earthbound at the moment, I'm afraid," Aziraphale confessed. "Just one trip?" The Doctor looked at the angel's broad, honest face and sighed. "Fine," he said, and opened the TARDIS door. "But you're buying."

A lot's been going on in Real Life, but still, you know how it is when you feel like you've dropped the ball. I'm feeling like I suck at life in the fandom department. I dropped the ball for 2 challenges, missing the deadlines, which I've never done before. Almost everything I finish is challenge-based. I'm feeling blah and uninspired, despite having a fannish to-do list as long as my arm, but I'm not feeling any of those stories right now.
So, help a sister, and throw me some prompts?
Established Fandoms: SGA, Torchwood, Lotrips, Sandman, Discworld, Good Omens
Fandoms I'd Try: New Who, Firefly, CSI-Vegas, Star Trek (TOS, TNG or Voyager), Addams Family, Lord of the Rings, American Gods
Genre/Rating/Pairing/all that stuff: Anything. Use this moment to request your most fucked up bunny. I'm good with it.
In return, I will write, at minimum, a drabble for the first five requests, and post it within 24 hours. If it jump starts the muse, as I'm praying it will, I'll do more.
Many thanks!

In the last couple of weeks, did anyone on my f-list post a link to a writing contest about balancing responsibility with right-livelihood? I remember the deadline was sometime in July.

I understand that there needs to be balance in an adult life, that sometimes we must do things we'd rather not, in order to support ourselves and our families.
But...

Not dead. Have been lurking and reading and laughing and crying (where appropriate) and occasionally commenting to all of you lovelies. Simply not posting much while hating my job, becoming addicted to belly dance and writing like a weasel on crack for tardis_bigbang. But I managed to toss out this for slashfest

Ideas. Where the hell do they come from? Can you make those little fuckers show up? Wild horse-bunnies. When a story just gets pulled right out of you. Do you get them? Writer's block. Have you been scourged? Clean up duty. Do you like editing? The ending. Is it hard for you to find the ending? The title. Where do you get yours? Do you have yours when you start the story? Plot. If you plot out your stories first, raise your hand. POV. How do you choose your POV for a scene? For a story? Challenge. Do you like them? Do they inspire you? Sex. Do you like writing sex?
